Looking back at my first year with D2 Rail, I am extremely proud of the achievements my team has made and the people we have recruited. The year started with the appointment of Rebecca Pratt as Information Manager. Rebecca has shown such drive in building her team and has proven to be a natural leader in her field. She has taken a fundamental role on the TRU West of Leeds project, recently winning the “outstanding contribution to the team” award for her work on the project.
With the recruitment of Rebecca Mercer as Document Controller in April, the Information Management team has grown its geographical coverage, with Rebecca being based at the Liverpool Lime Street project. In September, we took on our newest recruit Chloe Brown as a Document Controller. Chloe has excellent attention to detail and has proven to be a perfect addition to the team.
Another major appointment was Ashley Williams as BIM Manager. Ashley has 5 years’ experience in the rail industry and has proven to be an innovative leader in his field. Ashley brings a dual skillset by leading the implementation of BIM on projects and also providing new ideas around the use of virtual and augmented reality. With the support of his CAD and 3D Generalist team Rick Webdale and Richard Hunter, we are excited to see what new concepts Ashley and his team will be showcasing throughout the year.
The Information Management team has had a fantastic year with some great feedback from all projects they have been involved in. I look forward to seeing what the new year brings and what exciting new projects the team will be involved in. A huge thank you to the team for the past 12 months!
