D2 has recently produced and published its Social Value Strategy to demonstrate how it is addressing the business risks and opportunities associated with being a ‘responsible business’; and how it is making a conscious effort to contribute to the long-term wellbeing and resilience of individuals, communities, and society in general. This includes D2’s commitment to reaching Net Zero by 2050.
D2’s Social Value Strategy is aligned to the requirements of the Public Services (Social Value) Act 2012 which highlights businesses need to demonstrate they are providing social value by improving the economic, social and environmental well-being of the areas that they operate in. To do this D2 has developed the ‘D2 Social Value Model’ shown below which is built upon delivering five pillars. Within each pillar there are a series of workstreams and a set of short- and long-term targets to achieve. To ensure each pillar delivers on its commitments, D2 has allocated one of its senior leaders to act as the overall sponsor to develop and deliver the plan.
