It’s been a busy six months for our Controls, Planning, Information Management, BIM, Visualisations and Utilities Management teams. We have significantly grown in numbers, bringing in some fantastic new talent to join us in providing excellence to the rail industry – and we need them, in support of a number of fantastic new project opportunities coming our way this year.
Our development work has also been taken to the next level and we are producing some fantastic tools to help assist the projects we are working on in both the Controls, Planning, Utilities and Health and Safety areas. We’ve also attended a number of conferences and exhibitions and made some great contacts.
Our BIM team has gone from strength to strength. Riding high on his presentation to the Network Rail team on their PM3 Away Day in Leeds, our BIM Manager Ashley Williams was then asked to give a BIM and Innovation presentation to undergraduates at Salford University. We had some great questions from the students and a number of them stayed after the presentation to discuss the opportunities of working with us in the future.
We are a business that wants to help develop our team’s skillset and support their career aspirations and are delighted to announce that we have moved some of the team into project-based roles to help aid their further development.
Chloe Brown has moved from Sarah Barnes’s Information Management team to Simon Blair’s Project Controls team and is now working on Risk Management activities for the TRU West of Leeds (WOL) programme. Rebecca Crean has moved from an Office Support position into Chloe’s Document Control role, supporting the Information Management team. Sarah’s BIM lead, Ashley Williams, has also moved into a new role, supporting Engineering Excellence.
Danny Boyle has joined the team, as Train Operators Interface Manager. Danny has a wealth of experience and will be managing the interface with all TOC’s and FOC’s who operate on the routes that we are associated with and with particular focus on signal sighting and driver training issues for the WOL programme.
Jill Dyson is a talented and well-respected Senior Planner, who has joined our Planning team and is currently working with the West of Leeds team developing the GRIP 3 design programmes to completion. She will then be progressing onto programme development work with the Digital Rail team.
We have recently welcomed David Crowe as a Planner. In his first role with us, he supported the Aberdeen in Inverness project (A2I), helping the Network Rail/BAM project team in preparation for their current blockade. Richard Riding has also joined our Planning team and will be working alongside the Utilities team to ensure all Utilities work has a robust schedule from concept to completion.
Our Utilities Management team has also added to its numbers with Graeme Clarke joining Steve Cooper’s division as a Utilities Manager and will be supporting Steve with building the Utilities arm of our business.
As a leadership team, we strive for improvement and growth within our teams every year and continue to plan our client’s vision and deliver their promise. Well done all for another great six months to the team, we thank you all and look forward to the rest of the year.
